Sentiment in industrial metal markets is depressed and vulnerable to bad news. The default of a small solar cell producer caused a strong drop in confidence. Many participants have worries over the strength of the Chinese economy and the future level of demand for industrial metals. In soft commodities, fears about the effects of the drought in Brazil continue to support prices. Especially coffee found strong support, reaching a 2-year high. But also Ukraine and a possible El-Nino had a significant effect on other softs and grains.
